Well, not quite done

The agreement I had with the owner of this boat was to deliver a finished hull and he would finish the boat.  That job then turned into a completed boat which is what we have now.  I just received the final commission to deliver a race ready boat.  That means sourcing a mast and boom and all the other goobers that make the boat go.  This final job shouldn't take too long if I can get a mast delivered.

Also, the customer wanted a white Dagger board!  I removed the black paint from the sunfish blade and underneath  was a white board!  Now we have matching blades!

This boat is done!

I finished up all the little odds and ends on the boat.  We have 4 inspection plates.  One for the bow section, one for the aft end and one for each seat tank.  We have a Laser rudder and a Sunfish daggerboard. I made the tiller and hiking stick.  I found a small cleat for the rudder downhaul.  A 3/8 inch pin for the mast support.   The center traveler came from my box of parts.  The last picture shows the CB brake and the hiking strap.  Just add a mast, boom, sheet and sail!

First one down from NY get's her!

Ha, just kidding...

One final note...  This boat weighs  60.8 pounds!!!

Varnish, round two

Well, I put a coat of varnish on the boat over a week ago.  It's would not dry.  Don't know what was the matter.  I called the paint co and the only thing they would do is check the batch #'s and see if anyone else had a complaint.  They also offered to send my money back.  I took that option. It took a can of mineral spirits an a lot of elbows to get the old varnish off.   Got different varnish.  I'll know tomorrow if it's me or the paint!
